Secrets 5

SECRETS
Chapter 5

Renee took a deep breath and entered the kitchen. Luna was leaning against the counter drinking from a can of diet coke.

Luna had changed her clothes. She was wearing cotton shorts and a big t-shirt. Renee heaved a hard sigh and sat next to her on the counter. Luna looked down at her feet, sighing softly.

“I thought you were sick, Ren.” She said absently, taking a sip from her can. Renee chuckled and pulled out a cigarette. She lit it up and took a long drag, clearing her throat.

“We both know how this works, hon.” Renee replied as she hesitantly put her hand on Luna’s shoulder squeezing gently. “I’m sorry, NJ.” She added, frowning deeply. “I didn’t want to hurt you. I love you woman, I hope you know that.” Luna chuckled as she raised her head, locking eyes with her friend.

“I know that, Renee. I love you too. But…” Luna trailed off as she locked eyes with Renee. “Why didn’t you tell me about this shit, Renee?” She asked, pulling out a cigarette.

Renee didn’t answer immediately. She suspected that Luna was going to say something more, so she waited in complete silence.

“Why have you never told me about the drugs?” She asked, sighing hard. Renee heaved a hard sigh and cleared her throat.

“Listen, Luna. You’re in love with an illusion, honey. You have been dreaming so much of the time about Vin Diesel, the celebrity, that you had forgotten that he’s just a man.” Renee said as gently as she could, making herself comfortable on the counter.

She knew full well that right now Luna was pissed off and devastated at the same time. In response, Luna shut her eyes, nodding in agreement. Renee stood and went to the fridge, pulling out a Corona.

“I’m not trying to justify his behavior, I swear to you, but… Luna, Vin is himself, you know?” Renee said as she opened the bottle. “I’m not telling you what you have to do, but if you love a man, you have to know him first, Luna.” Renee took a sip from the bottle and continued, her voice gentle. “This is not a fan fic, honey. This is real life. You need to understand that Vin is like Peter Pan; he doesn’t want to grow up. But he’s a good guy. It’s that he just hasn’t found a real woman to show him a path to follow.” Luna shook her head, snarling at that.

“And you thought that I was that woman, huh?” Luna retorted, staring at Renee’s blue eyes. In response, Renee went silent, nodding ‘yes’. “Sorry for disappointing you, love. But I’m not, Ren.” She added, sighing. Her voice full of sarcasm.

“Why are you so sure? Maybe you are both made for each other, Luna.” Renee retorted, her voice serious. Luna rolled her eyes, chuckling.

“I’m not ‘Luna’, Renee.” Luna replied, frowning slightly. Renee’s brows arched in a questioning look. Luna rolled her eyes, chuckling. “I mean, I’m Luna but not that ‘Luna’. Not the woman from “Black Star”.” She said, sipping from the can. Renee narrowed her eyes, fixing her with a serious gaze.

“Luna lives inside of you, NJ. She’s part of you.” She said, taking a sip from her beer. Luna frowned deeply as she looked down at her feet. “When I first met Valentino, he wasn’t interested on me at all, you know?” Renee took a drag from her cigarette.

Luna snapped her head up, looking at her surprised at that revelation. In response, Renee nodded ‘yes’ and she elaborated.

“He had been Vin’s best friend since forever and they both were so connected that they even went after the same kind of chicks. But I wanted that hot Latino with me and even though I wasn’t sure if I could get him, I did fight for Val.” Renee grinned, thinking about her man. “I made him notice my presence using all the weapons I had in my reach. I learnt to accept his faults and I love him with all my heart and soul, just like that big sexy Latino loves me with every piece of him.”

Luna shut her eyes, forcing her tears back. She had seen them together and Valentino was more than just in love with Renee. She then swallowed hard, clearing her throat.

“I’m not sure if I want Vin anymore.” Luna admitted, biting her lower lip. “And even if that was still the case, I’m not his type of woman and we both know that too damn well, Ren. You know him better than anyone else.” Luna added, taking a long drag from her cigarette. “I’m not exactly a model, love. You have seen my bottom, there’s no way to make that asshole look at it for more than two seconds.” Luna smirked, sipping from her can. Renee chuckled at that.

“Take a look at me, NJ. I’m rather well endowed and we both know that it can be hell, but you want to know what Val told me the first time we made love?” Renee said, grinning devilishly, remembering that night. Luna smiled slightly, nodding ‘yes’. Renee laughed softly, shaking her head. “Val told me that he wasn’t a dog, that he didn’t like licking and sucking on bones.” Luna knit a brow and after a few seconds, both exploded laughing hard.

————————-

Valentino was sitting in front of Vin at the terrace. Vin had his gaze fixed on a spot only he could see, smoking absently.

“I can’t believe it, Val.” Vin said, breaking the silence around them. Val looked at him seriously. “That fucker brought a chick who is a minor, man.” He added as he took a long drag, sniffing slightly. “The fucker knew it and had the balls to ask for a fucking threesome.” Vin chuckled at his own words.

It wouldn’t be the first time that he and Dave had shared a chick, but a minor was out of the question. Valentino narrowed his eyes in suspicion. After a moment of hesitation, he cleared his throat.

“Are you high?” Val asked directly as he fixed Vin with a serious gaze. Vin glanced at him, smirking.

“Just a couple of lines.” He replied, rubbing his forehead. Val shook his head slightly, sighing. “You know me, Val. It was just for the party.” Vin murmured, his voice tinted with sarcasm.

He knew full well that it wasn’t just when Vin hosted a party that he was high, but it wasn’t that Valentino was oblivious to that fact either.

“That’s not the point, Vin. Renee is right, bro. You’re losing connection to reality.” Val replied, annoyed. Vin rolled his eyes, chuckling. “I’m serious, Vincent. You’re going down. This could have cost you too much, man.” Val added, his voice full of reproach. “Why the fuck are you acting like this? Sometimes I don’t even recognize you.”

“Fuck you, Valentino!” He retorted, rising his voice. “I don’t need you scolding me, you know? I’m a grown man, DAMNIT!”

“Are you sure about that?” Renee replied from the doorframe. Vin turned his head to her, growling. “Don’t give me that shit, Vincent. What the fuck are you doing?!” She added as she moved forward, stopping in front of him. “If you’d had laid a hand on that fucking kid…” Renee trailed off; her eyes had turned green in seconds, flashing with rage. Vin narrowed his eyes and stood, facing her.

“How many fucking times do I have to tell you? I didn’t touch her, Renee.” He hissed through clenched teeth. Renee crossed her arms over her chest, arching a brow.

“Be glad that Luna was here tonight, Vin. Otherwise, I don’t even want to think about the consequences.” Renee muttered in disgust.

Vin moved backwards and turned on his heels, heading inside of the house. “I’m tired. See you tomorrow.” Vin replied over his shoulder.

Renee grunted as she collapsed into a big armchair, rubbing her temples. Her head screaming with a painful headache.

Val stood and offered her his hand. Renee took it and he squeezed her hand gently, pulling her to him.

“How’s Luna?” Val asked encircling her shoulders. Renee heaved a hard sigh.

“Pissed off.” She replied and looked up at Val. “I told her that we were going to stay here tonight. I don’t want to leave him alone. He’s high again, Valentino.” Renee added, closing her eyes.

Val nodded in agreement and then looked at her with an ‘I told you so’ expression on his face. She rolled her eyes.

“Don’t tell me, Val. I know I made a mistake.” Renee murmured, frowning deeply. “Damnit! I was completely sure that they were going to do great together.” She added softly, shaking her head. “I hurt Luna.” Val pressed her body to his, kissing her forehead.

“Don’t worry, princesa. Your intentions were good.” Val whispered softly against her skin.

Renee closed her eyes, forcing tears of anger back, swallowing hard. She couldn’t explain what had happened with her gut instinct this time. She was so sure about them.

“Come on, since we’re staying how about a trip to the Jacuzzi?” Val waggled his brows, grinning like a loony. Renee grinned evilly.

No matter how bad she felt or how pissed off she was, Valentino was the best medicine for her.

————————

Vin couldn’t sleep at all. He had smoked a couple of joints in a lame attempt to neutralize the coke’s effects but it wasn’t working. He then frowned slightly as soon as she heard Renee and Valentino, giggling.

Vin climbed off the bed and went to the window. He fixed his gaze and saw the couple making love inside of the Jacuzzi. Vin couldn’t help but feel a little jealous of Val. He knew full well that Valentino had found the woman of his dreams and wondered if he would be able to find one for himself.

Vin chuckled silently, shaking his head. Who wanted one woman when he could have one hundred? Vin grinned at his thoughts and headed toward his office, dressed in a white tank shirt and his pajama pants.

On his way, Vin passed in front of the bedroom he had placed Luna in for the weekend and stopped dead in his tracks. He bent his head, pressing his ear to the door. Vin frowned slightly when he heard Luna typing, faster than anyone would be able to follow, on the keyboard of her laptop with fury.

Vin lifted a hand to knock on the door, but froze. Maybe it wasn’t the best moment to speak with her, and aside from that, who was she anyway? Why was he even thinking about apologizing to her? And apologize for what exactly? He hadn’t done anything wrong. Luna was just his scriptwriter, and a bitch, that was all. Vin shook his head and continued walking to his office.

A few minutes later, he was connected to one of his fan’s web sites. Renee had registered him there, giving him the ability to stalk around without being noticed. She had even provided him with a nickname to leave his own opinions about himself. She had told Vin that if he couldn’t sleep and was bored, he could enter any of the message boards and read a lot of funny things about himself. Renee admitted openly that she used to do it.

Vin chuckled at his own thoughts when he remembered what his answer to her had been. “Fuck, Ren. I really, really got to be fucking down to spend my time with this shit.”

Well, now it seemed to him that he was down enough, because here he was reading one of the message boards where his fans were speaking about “Hannibal”.

Vin then fixed his gaze on one of the messages boards and read to himself. Fan fiction. He knit a brow, grinning. There were different categories, named after his movie characters and one for Vin Diesel. They were also rated according to age.

“God bless those pervs.” Vin murmured, chuckling at his words and clicked to see the main menu. Vin smiled broadly when he read the list with the titles. “Oh, yeah…. Free porn. I do love all of you, ladies.” He murmured, grinning and went to read the ones based on himself.
