Chapter 40

Vin, Luna, Renee, Val, Mike and Steve had flown together to New York on board Vin’s private jet. There were three purposes to the travel: to introduce Luna to her new family and enjoy a whole day with them, to make it possible for Luna to meet her agent, Allison, in person and for them to have a lunch together. Lastly to have a meeting with the other scriptwriters that co-wrote the HBO soap opera along with Luna.

Chapter 39

After the wedding, Vin and Luna had traveled to Bora-Bora, spending the next week there. They chose that paradise island because Vin had a great time there while shooting ‘XXX’ and he wanted to show Luna the place. He knew that she would love it and he was right. Luna was in heaven and she was so happy she thought her heart would explode with joy.

Vin woke to a beat of a marching band mercilessly playing drums within his brain and a burning urge to pee. Muttering obscenities under his breath, he blinked sleep away, groaning as he realized what a hangover he had after such intense night. Vin swallowed dryly as he lifted a hand, rubbing his eyes.

They had spent the last three weeks locked in Vin’s house, dealing with Luna’s sickness. It hadn’t been easy because Luna had gone through several tantrums, cursing, yelling and crying. Especially when Vin told her she was going to move in with him, not giving her room for complaint.

Dr. Jacobs entered Luna’s room and closed the door at his back. He had in his hands the result of her pregnancy test in an envelope, closed and sealed just as Vin and Luna had asked. He had made sure that no names were written on it, just a code.

Renee spent the next day canceling all of Vin’s appointments for the next two weeks, just as he had asked her to the night before, including two TV interviews on the latest shows. One special appearance on the MTV Awards, several photo shoots and a meeting with two potential additional producers for “Hannibal”.
