I hate feeling rushed. Gotten to like the idea of spending a couple of days with you here. Nothing wrong with the ship, but even though I know you’re growing more comfortable with the idea of flying, I know it’s not really your element. We both felt we were being watched, over dinner, brought it up. I almost didn’t want to say anything at all, about the surveillance. No direct threat, so far, and, to be honest,I just didn’t want to leave yet.

I take the laptop up front. Vaughn sits between Davis and me. The tension is palpable. Petrie came back in the middle, with coffee, has no idea what’s going on. Doesn’t have enough experience to figure it out, but he does have enough sense to keep quiet. Our little family wagon is like a tomb.

The little knife is beautifully made, perfect. You must have picked it up while we were getting supplies. You never say anything, but you remember everything. I had lost my switchblade during the madness with McDermott, and I didn’t think I would see another so perfectly balanced again.

The hulk of the Midorian rises before us. Petrie has no problem docking, the resort was built at a time when the notion of a small ship was unheard of. We have no way of knowing what dock they’re using. Petrie will stay here, with the ship, for now. He doesn’t complain. I have the feeling you could kick Petrie in the head and he wouldn’t complain much.
