Hugh Jackman’s The Wolverine Faces More Delays, May Shoot Next Year:
The planned sequel, which is supposed to reboot the wayward Marvel franchise, has faced far too many obstacles in the preproduction stage, from original director Darren Aronofsky’s abrupt departure to delays caused by the tsunami that rocked Japan (where The Wolverine hoped to film). James Mangold’s on board to direct, and Christopher McQuarrie reportedly turned in a stellar script. But we’re hearing the film might be delayed. Again.
We reported back in August that Fox likely wouldn’t start production on The Wolverine until next year at this point, even though it had set up shop in Vancouver for potential shoots. But Moviehole.net, in an “Ask Clint” column, reiterates that sources close to the production say they have been delayed and that “they’ll resume talks again next year.”
Resume talks? That doesn’t sound like they’re ready to shoot, at all.

‘Chronicles of Riddick’ New Movie BACK ON After Cash Starts Flowing:
Vin Diesel’s new “Chronicles of Riddick” movie is back from the dead … TMZ has learned … after the production company scrounged up enough cash to pay off some long overdue bills.
We broke the story … the movie came to a screeching halt last month, when the guy who owns the Montreal studio where the film is being shot LOCKED OUT the cast and crew after complaining that he hadn’t gotten paid.
But things have FINALLY changed … so says studio owner Michel Trudel, who claims the production company recently paid up … and he’s willing to allow the flick to pick up where it left off.
Sources connected with the production tell us … the studio payment is just ONE step in the right direction — noting that several members of the crew who had been griping about not receiving paychecks WILL INDEED get their cash in the very near future.
We’re told that filming will resume on December 28.

This week’s issue of “Entertainment Weekly” reveals new photos from Ridley Scott’s upcoming sci-fi thriller “Prometheus.” Though these pictures do reveal a little bit about the film, it is still unknown whether it is a prequel to “Alien.” I guess we’ll have to wait until June 2012 to find out.

Ridley Scott dishes on the last eight minutes of his Alien prequel Prometheus:
In an interview with SpeakEasy, Ridley confirmed that the title is indeed related to the ancient myth about Prometheus the Titan who stole fire from the Gods (and gave it to the mortals). Alas, Prometheus was later punished for this deed by being chained to a cliff where an eagle would feast on his ever-regenerating liver daily. On that note, this is how Ridley is spinning his movie’s namesake:
“Fire is our first form of technology,” Scott says, and so by taking fire, the higher being is punished “in perpetuity in a horrible fashion.”
That makes us assume that the xenomorphs are the old “eagle-and-liver” punishment. And according to Ridley, it’s all going to come together in the end.
The last eight minutes of the “Prometheus” story evolve into “a pretty good DNA of the ‘Alien’ one.”

‘Chronicles of Riddick’ New Movie Shut Down — No Money, Mo’ Problems:
Vin Diesel’s comeback as an ass-kicking ex-con from the future is on hold … because production on the new “Chronicles of Riddick” movie has been shut down over some serious cash flow issues.
TMZ spoke with Michel Trudel — the owner of the Montreal studio where the new movie is being shot — who tells us he changed the locks and kicked everyone off the set Wednesday because the production company, One Race Films, has failed to pay up on time.
