Vin Diesel has been extremely generous when it comes to fans of Riddick. He lobbied incredibly hard to get the Chronicles of Riddick sequel made in the first place, and now that production is underway he’s been sharing production photos from the set. Diesel sent out a new image from the set today, giving us another look at the actor in character.

Question: You recently signed on to do the next Riddick movie. Was there a specific draw for you with that?
KATEE SACKHOFF: The draw there is selfish. I grew up watching science fiction and action movies. I love it. I absolutely love it! I’m a huge fan of Vin [Diesel]. I’m a huge fan of the first two movies. I don’t even know how much I can say. They’re so buried in secrecy, over there at the David Twohy camp. But, selfishly, it’s what makes me tick. It’s what I enjoy doing. It’s fun. I’ve been all over the map with my films, in the last year, and the next three or four that I have planned, so I’m excited to go blow some shit up.

I got the job because I showed up. I truly believe that. When I was driving home that night, at 2 o’clock in the morning, I called my mom and said, “I do believe I just got that job because I showed up.” As far as acting goes, you get to a certain point where I think everyone can do the job and it comes down to a level of commitment. Jordi Molla in talks for ‘Riddick’:
After coming close to nabbing the coveted villain role in J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek 2,” Spanish thesp Jordi Molla is taking his sinister sneer to another sci-fi franchise, as he’s in negotiations to play the villain opposite Vin Diesel in David Twohy’s “Riddick.”
Molla is in talks to play Santana, a mercenary who heads up an eight-man crew tasked with finding and killing Riddick.

Katee Sackhoff To Co-Star In ‘Riddick’:
EXCLUSIVE: Katee Sackhoff is in final negotiations to play the female lead opposite Vin Diesel in the untitled Chronicles Of Riddick sequel. In the movie, written and directed by David Twohy, the Battlestar Galactica alumna will play Dahl, a Nordic mercenary tracking Riddick (Diesel). Production on the sequel resumed recently in Montreal after a two-month break due to financing issues. Sackhoff, who had long been rumored for the choice for the role, will segue from Riddick to her new A&E series Longmire. The actress, who co-starred on the final season of 24 and did an arc on CSI, has movies Haunting In Georgia and Evil Sexy Genius coming out later this year. She is with Gersh and Bleu.

‘Chronicles of Riddick’ New Movie BACK ON After Cash Starts Flowing:
Vin Diesel’s new “Chronicles of Riddick” movie is back from the dead … TMZ has learned … after the production company scrounged up enough cash to pay off some long overdue bills.
We broke the story … the movie came to a screeching halt last month, when the guy who owns the Montreal studio where the film is being shot LOCKED OUT the cast and crew after complaining that he hadn’t gotten paid.
But things have FINALLY changed … so says studio owner Michel Trudel, who claims the production company recently paid up … and he’s willing to allow the flick to pick up where it left off.
Sources connected with the production tell us … the studio payment is just ONE step in the right direction — noting that several members of the crew who had been griping about not receiving paychecks WILL INDEED get their cash in the very near future.
We’re told that filming will resume on December 28.
